ApeSwap DEX Upgrade Stage II
Swap Any Token on BNB Chain, Polygon, or Ethereum - Coming July 19th
ApeSwap’s recent focus on improving the trading experience for all users has resulted in a series of significant upgrades to our decentralized exchange.
During the first stage of this DEX Upgrade, we implemented a new Bonus Router, which (in partnership with Wallchain) searches for arbitrage opportunities and returns a portion of profitable trades back to users.
Today, we’re excited to announce the second stage of the DEX Upgrade. The primary feature is a new Smart Router that will allow users to swap any token with liquidity on our supported chains (BNB Chain, Polygon, and Ethereum), whether that liquidity exists on the ApeSwap DEX or on external sources.
The Smart Router: Reducing User Friction While Driving Trade Volume
As of July 19th, 2022 at 22:00 UTC, a new routing flow option will be live: the Smart Router. When the ApeSwap DEX identifies that a particular token swap cannot be facilitated through liquidity pools that are native to the DEX, that trade will now be redirected through the Smart Router, which facilitates trades using liquidity from external sources from across the appropriate chain (BNB Chain, Polygon, or Ethereum).
One exciting feature of the Smart Router is that it can work in tandem with our recently launched Bonus Router to offer Swap Bonuses on qualifying trades, even if the trade involves alternative liquidity sources.
We anticipate that opening this new routing option up to our users will achieve a number of positive outcomes, including:
- Facilitating more trades for the end user so that they don’t have to switch between multiple DEXs
- Driving more volume to ApeSwap by encouraging users to use our “one-stop shop” DEX service
- Increasing the opportunities for Swap Bonuses on trades that qualify for the Bonus Router
How To Use the Smart Router
In our opinion, the best feature of the Smart Router on the ApeSwap DEX is that you don’t have to change anything about the way you currently trade to use it. The DEX will automatically facilitate swaps through the appropriate route, using the native ApeSwap Router, the Smart Router, and/or the Bonus Router.
The DEX will use the Smart Router when there is no liquidity available through the ApeSwap liquidity pools, or when the slippage for a particular trade exceeds 15% if facilitated through ApeSwap’s native liquidity.
Importing Token Lists
One other ease-of-use upgrade we’ve made to the ApeSwap DEX is the ability to import tokens from lists of the most popular tokens on each chain. Currently, you can import any token for trading on the ApeSwap DEX, but will be served a warning for unlisted tokens each time.
As of July 19th, 2022, at 22:00 UTC users will be able to import the following new lists of tokens, removing the warning for each token on the list and allowing them to be selected in trades:
BNB Chain: BNB Chain Top 100, BNB Chain Extended
Polygon: Polygon Extended
The tokens on these lists are also searchable by name in the ApeSwap DEX, so users can individually import each token if they choose without importing the full list.
To import a full token list, simply select one of the tokens from the Swap page of the DEX, then select Manage Tokens, then use the toggles to select the lists you want to use.
